Flexibility
Flexibility
is the degree to which your body's fibrous tissues (muscle, tendon,
and ligament) can stretch without injury. This is best done once
properly warmed up, and is only then accomplished through proper
stretching techniques.
First, one must warm up with active ranges
of motion. This will bring blood into the area and increase the
elasticity of the tissues. This will be followed by active stretching
of the muscles to be used in the activity.
Next, after the warm up and active stretching,
one can move into static stretching. The mistake many people make
is doing this first- resulting in an increased risk of injury. Don't
be one of those injured! Know what, when and how to warm up and
stretch!
After the stretch portion is the time to head
to the driving range for your bucket of balls, or to the course
to meet your golf buddies!
